Event: Cybersecurity Monitoring: from zero to hero

Covering multiple topics on how you can start monitoring your network for indicators of compromise or external threats. What log sources you should collect, frameworks you should use, and open-source intelligence to get you started down the path of cybersecurity hero.

Speaker: Dillon Petschke

Dillon’s educational background starts at Southeast Community College where he earned his degree in Computer Information Technology with a focus on Networking. Starting his career in IT at a local financial institution, he quickly realized his passion for Cybersecurity after working with the multiple security tools required for compliance. While exiting the financial world, he joined the MSSP industry helping small businesses around the world protect themselves from cyber threats. His daily work consisted of managing firewalls, vulnerability discovery, SIEM, phishing simulation, email security, along with endpoint security tool management. Dillon’s current role is a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst where he spends his time developing alerts, responding to incidents, tuning detection mechanisms, threat hunting, and more.
